Wall Monster

Wall Monster in Tut TV

Wall Monsters are enemies found in Gex: Enter The Gecko and Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko. In Enter the Gecko, this enemy can be encountered in the Scream TV levels. In Deep Cover Gecko, this enemy can be encountered in Tut TV. These enemies act more like obstacles than actual enemies, as they cannot be damaged in any way.

Design and inspiration[]

There is no discernible inspiration behind the design of the Wall Monster in Enter the Gecko, besides the horror trope of figures moving and reaching out through walls. However, the Wall Monster in Deep Cover Gecko is clearly inspired by the mask of King Tut.

Behavior and strategy[]

Both enemies look like regular walls when stationary. However, this facade is quickly broken when the monster lunges out at the player. Both enemies attack the player by performing a biting motion. This enemy cannot be attacked directly, so the best way to avoid it is by running past it. If the player is quick enough, they can run past the monster before it has a chance to bite them. In general, it is best to stay out of the monster's biting range to avoid taking damage.

It is also worth noting that the attack rate of each enemy incarnation varies. The Tut TV monster attacks quickly and without pause, while the Scream TV incarnation is much slower and predictable by comparison.
